Mirror ShadesThey lay in the desert sand, Untouched, Waiting for the familiar feel of a hand, The day's heat and the night's cold was too much, The soft sand of the desert and the cloudless blue skies reflected, Within the mirror lens of a pair of shades, Over the years, so much sand was collected, And as the day fades, The shades are lost in a soft crunch under a hermit's boots, Lost in the sands of the desert that are forever stretching on, Lost as the hermit walks through, The shades were gone.Mirror Shades

Lady LuckWe met on a Saturday, Under the darkened sky, She said lets go this way, As I wondered why, She took me to the local graveyard, Then she turned to me and said, In the land of the dead, It's hard, Can you hear the sound, Of the world turning, leaving us behind? She put her ear to the ground, Seeing what sounds she could find, And just when I thought it was over, She called me down, And then she handed me a four leaf clover. Then, she turned around, And fell into my arms, We fell in love that night, I couldn't resist her charms, At fLady Luck

StayThe fire swallowed the barn whole, A small boy stood at the door, A woman stood inside, her eyes black as coal, She asked the boy what he was waiting for, She told him to run, He wanted to stay...he wanted to stay, She said the game was over,he won, She told him to go away, He smiled and held her hand, She told him to leave, All he did was stand, She told him he was naive, He just stood there, She told him to go away, He was not so easy to scare, He wanted to stay....he wanted to stay.Stay

PAY ATTENTiON.As I sit at the window and stare down at the tall weeds that seem so menacing in the streetlamps dim light, I think. My thoughts are insane and everywhere. The shadows make me question truth. I know what's really out there but part of me believes that there's something more in the darkness. Something unexplainable. It only comes out in the night. I lean out of the window backwards and gaze up into the sky with the wonder of a young child. Living in a small town has its perks. I can see the stars perfectly. Twinkling in their places as if greeting me in their own special way. I can see them all perfectly. I can even make out a few constePAY ATTENTiON.

The evening trees moan as if they knew at night I always dream of you...

But to love- to trust love's object unquestioningly- that too is insanity.
